Jeanne Westervelt

PG, Senior LSP

It’s a rare person who goes into college knowing what she wants to major in – and then sticks with it. Jeanne is one of those lucky few. She enrolled in Bucknell University with a lifelong fascination with geology and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Geology. Today, she is a Pennsylvania Certified Professional Geologist and Massachusetts Licensed Site Professional (LSP) with more than 25 years of experience in environmental consulting.

Jeanne launched her career in her native New York, working for Camp Dresser & McKee Inc. (CDM) on a variety of Superfund Projects for EPA Region II. She later moved to Boston, continuing to work on hazardous waste assessment and remediation projects for both EPA and other private and public clients. She worked for several years as an independent consulting geologist prior to joining Cooperstown Environmental in 2012. As a Licensed Site Professional, she is experienced in managing Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP) projects through all phases of investigation and cleanup.

Since joining Cooperstown Environmental, she has managed environmental assessment, remediation, exposure evaluation, and risk reduction at MCP sites, including sites with chlorinated solvent contamination and vapor intrusion. An additional focus had been on larger scale Brownfields redevelopment projects in urban environments so contaminated property can be returned to beneficial use.  She always strives to maintain a strong focus on her client’s needs and assist them in conducting remediation work to restore their property in a cost-effective manner while protecting human health and the environment.

In addition to her undergraduate degree, Jeanne has completed graduate coursework in geophysics, groundwater hydrology, and related fields at Stony Brook and CCNY, and earned a Master of Education from Salem State. In her time off, she enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
